Replacing a 40+ Year-Old Shaker System: A Custom Fabrication Success Story

Central Consolidated's Custom Fabrication Team Specializes in Solving Complex Installation Challenges

Our Custom Fabrication Team recently completed the replacement of a 100-foot industrial shaker system that had been in service for more than 40 years.

Over the years, the original shaker had been rebuilt multiple times and reinforced with additional wear-resistant plate, making the removal process more complicated than a typical equipment replacement. To safely remove the system, our Team carefully dismantled it into manageable sections using plasma cutters, torches, forklifts, and specialized moving equipment.

Once the existing shaker was removed, the next phase focused on preparing the foundation for installation. The floor was ground smooth, and new base plates were carefully laid out, anchored, and grouted into place to provide a stable foundation for the new equipment.

The new system consisted of two shaker sections weighing 8,800 pounds each. After setting the equipment, our Team completed final leveling and alignment checks before welding the system to its anchor plates and embedded structural steel. Precision at every step was critical to ensure reliable operation and long-term performance.

Replacing large equipment requires more than installation expertise. It takes planning, coordination, problem-solving, and a Team committed to quality workmanship and safety throughout the process.

Whether supporting equipment replacements, plant upgrades, or custom fabrication projects, Central Consolidated has the experience and capabilities to help industrial facilities keep their operations running efficiently.
